Ahmad Robert “Bob” Hadba, Ph.D., MBA is a Senior Director of R&D Projects at Alcon Laboratories, Inc. Fort Worth, Texas. In this role, Bob is leading a cross-functional multi-site team charged with developing and clinically validating the performance of a new Modular Intraocular Lens Platform designed to optimize the refractive outcomes of post-cataract surgery patients. Bob began his career at Alcon in 2012 as the Director of Materials Research. In 2013, he headed up the New Technology Research group in IOL R&D then led Surgical Liquid Devices R&D in 2016. Prior to joining Alcon, Bob held various Research and Technology Development positions of increasing responsibility at Covidien (now a division of Medtronic), the last of which was the Director of R&D Strategy and Biomaterials Technologies (2009-2012.) Bob holds over 70 issued US Patents, three peer-reviewed publications and 13 scientific conference posters and presentations. 

Bob earned his Ph.D. in Materials Science & Engineering – Biomaterials Specialty from the University of Florida in 2001. He also holds an MBA from Quinnipiac University.
