Graduate Application – International

Step 1 — International Student Handbook

Before applying to the University of Florida, please review the information in the International Student Handbook. The University of Florida Graduate School requires all applicants to take the Graduate Record Examination (GRE). There are no exceptions to this rule. If you have reviewed the International Student Handbook and meet the above requirements, please continue to Step 2.

Step 2 — Application Form

Step 3 — Materials Science Department

The following must be completed and mailed to the UF Admissions Office:

  • One official transcript in both the original language and English translation from all schools attended
  • One offical copy in both the original language and English translation of degree information (if the degree has been conferred)
  • Official copy of GRE score reports from ETS
  • Official copy of TOEFL score reports from ETS
  • Official copy of TSE score report form ETS (optional exam; students will be required to take the TSE their first semester if this hasn’t already been done prior to admission)

Official GRE score reports from ETS must be submitted by ETS to the University of Florida Office of Graduate Admissions using the following codes:

  • Institution Code: 5812
  • Department Code: 1403

The following must be completed and submitted online:

  • Three Letters of Recommendation
  • Statement of purpose

I. Office of Admissions

The following must be submitted to the University of Florida Office of Admissions from ETS using the following codes:

  • Official GRE score reports:
    • Institution: 5812
    • Department: 1403
  • Official TOEFL score reports:
    • Institution: 5812
    • Department: 73
  • TSE:
    • Institution: 5812
    • (Optional exam; students will be required to take the TSE thier first semester if this hasn’t already been done prior to admission)

II. Materials Science Department

The following must be completed and submitted online:

  • Three Letters of Recommendation
  • Statement of purpose
