Jacob DeWitte is a founder and the CEO of UPower. He graduated with a B.S. in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Florida in 2008 and has been named to the 2014 Forbes 30 Under 30 list in the energy sector.  He is currently a nuclear engineering Ph.D. candidate at MIT and an Admiral Hyman G. Rickover Fellow.

DeWitte has worked at Sandia National Laboratories, Urenco, General Electric, and the Naval Reactor Laboratories and also served on the Board of the American Nuclear Society. He has worked on cutting-edge nuclear technologies, nuclear facility licensing, fuel sales and nuclear construction project management. DeWitte has research expertise in next-generation reactor systems, and his doctorate research explores techniques to maximize power plant performance with new fuel designs.
