UF Engineering Professor receives $1.4 million NSF grant

Andrew, an associate professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, and her team received a $1.4 million grant from the National Science Foundation to study scalable and high-performance magnetic materials that can be implemented into modern-day devices that would take up less space.  

UF Engineers develop lightweight metal for NASA

NASA is collaborating with the University of Florida’s Department of Materials Science and Engineering for its RadSat project. The lab lead by Department Chair Michele Manuel developed a lightweight magnesium alloy.
