Congratulations on receiving your award!
Below are key points to help guide you in composing your THANK YOU note.
DO:
- Tell Your Story. Share a bit about yourself. The donors were once students, too; they’d love to know something about you and more about your journey.
- Address Supporters by Name. Address the donors directly, for example: “Mrs. Bette Holloway, …”
- Share Meaning. Explain why this award is significant to you. How does it impact your education or career goals?
- Mention the Scholarship Name. Make sure to include the name of the scholarship in your note.
- Sincerity is Key. Ensure your note is genuine and heartfelt.
- Keep it Brief.: Be concise and to the point. A short, sincere note is often more impactful.
- Express Gratitude. Clearly express your gratitude for their support and generosity.
- Contact Us With Any Questions. Send your questions to finance@mse.ufl.edu.
DON’T:
- Mention Award Amount. Avoid mentioning the specific amount of the award.
- Include the Date Received. There’s no need to mention the date you received the award.
- Address the supporter(s) as “Donor” or “Donors.” Begin your note using the name of the donor or donor family provided in the dropdown menu in the form below.
Following these guidelines will help ensure that your thank you note effectively communicates your appreciation while respecting the donor’s preferences and maintaining professionalism. Good luck composing your note!
