Dr. Michael Tonks received his B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering at Brigham Young University and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He worked at the Idaho National Laboratory and Penn State University before joining the Faculty of the Materials Science & Engineering Department at the University of Florida in August of 2017. His research is focused on investigating the co-evolution of microstructure and properties of materials in harsh environments.
