Elliot Douglas Receives ASEE Award

Elliot P. Douglas, Associate Professor in MSE and Dean’s Fellow for Engineering Education, has received the 2013 ASEE SE Section Outstanding Teaching Award, the highest award given by the section. He was cited for his research activities in engineering education on topics such as problem-solving, critical thinking, and active learning, as well as development of a new textbook for the introductory materials class that is based on a guided inquiry approach. The award was presented in March at the section’s annual meeting.
