Professor Elliot P. Douglas has published a new textbook for the Introduction to Materials course. His book, Introduction to Materials Science and Engineering: A Guided Inquiry, uses a series of guided questions that allow students to develop a deep conceptual understanding of the material. The publisher, Pearson Higher Education, is supporting the text with a number of resources, including MasteringEngineering, an online homework and tutorial system.
