Elliot P. Douglas, Ph.D., associate professor and Dean’s Fellow for Engineering Education, has received the 2013 ASEE Southeast Section Outstanding Teaching Award, the highest award given.

Douglas was cited for his research activities in engineering education on topics such as problem-solving, critical thinking, and active learning, as well as the development of a new textbook for the introductory materials class that is based on a guided inquiry approach.
