The Association for the Study of the Cuban Economy (ASCE) awarded its 2012 Best Conference Paper to the University of Florida Association of Cuban Student Engineers team.
Alex L. Arias (Materials Eng.), Tony Diaz (Mechanical/Aerospace Eng.), Jhon Cores (Chemical Eng.), and Will Rodriguez (Electrical Eng.) were awarded for their joint paper entitled “Evaluation and Design of a Decentralized Alternative to Conventional Wastewater Infrastructure in Cuba.”
Their paper will be published in the conference proceedings, and they’ll present their work at the ASCE Conference, which will take place August 2-4th in Miami. The team was advised by Environmental Engineering graduate student Miguel Morales. N. Montague (Tulane University) and J. Hutt (Harvard University) came in second and third place.
