Mehrad Mehr receives the NEUP Graduate Research Fellowship Award

Mehrad Mehr has recently received the Nuclear Energy University Programs (NEUP) graduate fellowship award. This award is given by the Department of Energy office of nuclear energy to only 31 students nationwide. The mission is to advance nuclear energy technologies and engage with the U.S. university community to conduct research and development. Mehrad received the award based in part on his research proposal on low temperature welding of silicon carbide for nuclear fuel rod applications.
Mehrad is a second year graduate student at the University of Florida in the Materials Science and Engineering Department working under Professor Juan C. Nino.
