Transmission Electron Microscopy (Assistant, Associate or Full Professor)

The Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Florida invites applications for tenured or tenure-track positions at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor. Of particular interest are candidates with expertise in the broad area of characterization of materials and phenomena using advanced analytical transition electron microscopy (TEM), development of new transmission electron microscopy techniques for materials characterization, and in-situ characterization of novel processes using electron microscopy.

Professor of Practice

The Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Florida invites applications for multiple full-time, nine-month, non-tenure track positions at the level of Professor of the Practice.

The ideal candidate would qualify as a senior faculty member at the professor level. A national or international record of distinction in non-academic achievement pertinent to the position is required, and/or have demonstrated applied and practical professional experience relevant to the goals of the academic unit in which they will be employed. Duties and responsibilities include: teaching, revising and developing undergraduate and graduate engineering courses, and may include both on-line as well as face-to-face instruction in Materials Science and Engineering or Nuclear Engineering

In addition, there may be other service and teaching activities at local, state and national level, as well as at the university level, as directed by the department chair. Teaching assignments will be made according to background and experience and will be four to six course sections per year based on mutual agreements.
