This fund supports scholarships in the Department of Materials Science & Engineering. Robert E. Reed-Hill retired from the U.S. Coast Guard in 1959 as a Commander and moved to Gainesville in 1960 where he was very active in the University of Florida community. He was active in research, wrote many publications and worked on various projects in the field of physical metallurgy.
