Dr. Michael Fassbender is a senior scientist at the Los Alamos National Laboratory with more than 20 years of experience in the areas of radionuclide production, nuclear data measurement and radioisotope separation science. Fassbender received his Ph.D. degree (Dr. rer. nat.) in chemistry and radiochemistry from the University of Cologne. After a two-year postdoc fellowship at iThembaLABS, South Africa, in the field of cyclotron radionuclide production, he accepted a position at the Los Alamos National Laboratory. Dr. Fassbender has taken on many technical, scientific and scholarly responsibilities within the US Department of Energy’s National Isotope Program since.
