Abstract:

There has been a recent explosion of interest in Artificial Intelligence (AI), both in academia and in popular media. Products based on intelligent software that can learn have made it into daily life, and the associated Machine Learning (ML) algorithms started appearing in many research domains.

In this talk, we will discuss what AI and ML are, and how they can be used. We will cover several popular ML applications that made it to daily life as well as those that are in use in many research domains. In the process, I will highlight and explain key methodologies that are used in these applications.
