We will be having our 2nd MSE Career Workshop Monday evening, Sept. 22 from 5:30pm–9:00pm. This event is for MSE students and post-docs only and allows you the opportunity to explore internship and job opportunities with representatives of companies. The first MSE Career Workshop that was held last Jan. with Siemens went extremely well. We had a catered dinner, and everyone had the opportunity to talk with multiple recruiters from Siemens. We had over 130 students attend, and thanks to the generous support of Siemens, everyone left with door prizes—including someone winning an X-Box System.

This time we are extremely delighted to announce we have 6 companies/organizations coming. They are:

• Siemens
• U.S. Steel
• Sandia National Laboratories
• Cameron Corporation
• The Institute of Materials/Rolls-Royce
• Nucor

Our goal is to try to get at least 200 of the 450 MSE students to attend. Everyone from beginning freshmen to Senior Ph.D. students will benefit from this experience. You will have the chance to learn about internship, co-op opportunities, establish relationships for future possible jobs, or if you are graduating possibly get an interview for a permanent job. Just the practice of talking with recruiters is invaluable. It is never too soon to begin these networking experiences. Thanks again to the generous support of the companies, dinner will be provided, and there will be significantly more door prizes than last time. Everyone will get something.

The event is restricted to only students declaring MSE as their major. Given the event is restricted to only MSE students, we will check you in at the door. The event location has changed. This time it will be held in the upstairs ballroom of Emerson Alumni Hall, which is across University Ave. from the Stadium.

We have worked very hard to expand the number of organizations coming. It is critical that we get a great turnout to continue building the momentum for this event—we hope to do it again in the spring with even more companies. Please go the website and sign up to attend.
